Traditional Liturgical Calendar: Tridentine Latin Mass

Save the World, Save Traditional Latin Mass

Keep close to the Catholic Church at all times, for the Church alone can give you true peace, since she alone possesses Jesus, the true Prince of Peace, in the Blessed Sacrament. ~St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina

The Traditional Latin Mass, “The Mass of All Ages” is making a great comeback among Catholics of all ages. Do not depart by one iota from traditional Catholic doctrine: Roman Catholicism is pure and unadulterated – as practiced from the time of Our Lord. In these turbulent times of sodomite and masonic invasion with the intent of destroying Christ’s Church from within, Catholics should always remain faithful to Christ and His Church, the true Catholic Church.

The Calendar is a free gift from Tridentine Catholic for anyone to download, print and enjoy, and was assembled as an economical way traditional Latin Mass Catholics could enhance their faith.

What is the Traditional Latin Mass?

“Our Mass goes back, without essential change, to the age when it first developed out of the oldest liturgy of all. It is still redolent of that liturgy, of the days when Cæsar ruled the world and thought he could stamp out the faith of Christ, when our fathers met together before dawn and sang a hymn to Christ as to a God. The final result of our enquiry is that, in spite of unsolved problems, in spite of later changes, there is not in Christendom another rite so venerable as ours.” ~Fr. Adrian Fortescue.

The Traditional Latin Mass is also called the the Tridentine Mass of Pope St. Pius V;  it is the liturgical expression of Roman Catholicism. The Traditional Latin Mass has the power of conversion from paganism to Christianity, and radically different from the Novus Ordo Mass!

The liturgy of the 1962 Daily Missal is better known as the “Tridentine Mass”, “Traditional Latin Rite” or “Traditional Roman Rite”, and since 2007 as the “Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite”, a phrase used in Pope Benedict XVI’s 2007 Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum to describe the liturgy of the 1962 Roman Missal.

The beauty, dignity and mystery that surrounds the Mass leaves it standing alone as what has been described by the Saints as “The most beautiful thing this side of Heaven”.  Saint Teresa of Avila said: “I am struck by the greatness of the ceremonies of the Church”.

If you have not yet seen the Traditional Mass, you have definitely deprived yourself of experiencing the greatest Jewel of our Catholic Faith.

THE MOST IMPORTANT about traditional – that is, authentic Catholicism … not just the mass one attends, but the theology embraced by the celebrant. For example, the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) accept the legitimacy and “doctrinal rectitude” of the Novus Ordo, and consequently, must accept ecumenism with non-Catholic religions (condemned in Mortalium animos), religious liberty and indifferentism (condemned in Mirari Vos and Quanta Cura), conciliarism (condemned in Execrabilis),  modernism (condemned in Pascendi dominici gregis and Lamentabili Sane), communion in the hand (condemned as an abuse), patently phony annulments, the new catechism, and subjection to heretical bishops. “FSSP priests cannot condemn any of these things; Fraternity members purchase “official approval” with the coin of their silence” ref: www.traditionalmass.org.

Fr. Gregory Hesse, Canon Lawyer, Doctor of Thomistic Theology, Lifelong Friend and Personal Secretary of Cardinal Stickler at the Vatican from 1986-1988 gives a no-nonsense, intelligent, learned, and witty exposition and further explanation of relevant topics facing contemporary faithful Catholics in the following video.

On the Liturgical Reform

“Liturgy must really have great continuity, protected from what is arbitrary, in which I really … am raised up into a communion of celebration that is something other than what commissions or liturgy committees devise. I am of the opinion, to be sure, that the old rite should be granted much more generously to all those who desire it. It’s impossible to see what could be dangerous or unacceptable about that. A community is calling its very being into question when it suddenly declares that what until now was its holiest and highest possession is strictly forbidden and when it makes the longing for it seem downright indecent. Can it be trusted any more about anything else?” ~ Pope Benedict XVI

“The liturgical reform [of Vatican II], in its concrete realization, has distanced itself even more from its origin. The result has not been a reanimation, but devastation. In place of the liturgy, fruit of a continual development, they have placed a fabricated liturgy. They have deserted a vital process of growth and becoming in order to substitute a fabrication. They did not want to continue the development, the organic maturing of something living through the centuries, and they replaced it, in the manner of technical production, by a fabrication, a banal product of the moment.” ~ Pope Benedict XVI  (Revue Theologisches, Vol. 20, Feb. 1990, pgs. 103-104)

“It is evident that the Novus Ordo has no intention of presenting the faith as taught by the Council of Trent, to which, nonetheless, the Catholic conscience is bound forever. With the promulgation of the Novus Ordo, the loyal Catholic is thus faced with a most tragic alternative.” ~ Cardinal Ottaviani to Pope Paul VI, “Ottaviani Intervention”.

“There is one God, and one Christ, and there is one Church, and one Chair founded by the voice of the Lord upon a Rock. Another altar cannot be constituted or a new priesthood be made, beside the one altar and the one priesthood. Whosoever gathereth elswhere, scattereth. Whatsoever by human madness is instituted, so that the divine disposition is violated, is adulterous, is impious, is sacrilegious.”  ~ St. Cyprian, Epist. ad Pleb. xl. n. 5

“If anyone says that the received and approved rites of the Catholic Church customarily used in the solemn administration of the sacraments may be despised, or may be freely omitted by the ministers without sin, or may be changed into other new rites by any church pastor whomsoever, let him be anathema.”   …Council of Trent, Sess. VII, Can. XIII. Pope Paul III, 3 March 1547 (D.S. 1613)

“Now, therefore, in order that all everywhere may adopt and observe what has been delivered to them by the Holy Roman Church, Mother and Mistress of the other churches, it shall be unlawful henceforth and forever throughout the Christian world to sing or to read Masses according to any formula other than this Missal published by Us… Accordingly, no one whosoever is permitted to infringe or rashly contravene this notice of Our permission, statute, ordinance, command, direction, grant, indult, declaration, will, decree, and prohibition. Should any venture to do so, let him understand that he will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul.” Pope St. Pius V, Quo Primum Tempore, July 14, 1570.

That was the true voice of Catholic tradition. Let us remain faithful to it no matter who asks us to do otherwise. Moreover, “Be careful. These are dangerous times. The devil would like you to believe that the battle for the ancient Mass has been all but won. But have no doubt. He hates the ancient Mass and anyone who has devotion to it, and in particular those who offer the Holy Sacrifice. Now is the time for watchfulness, for he will try to trick us. The time when success can be measured is the most dangerous time of all.” –Alice von Hildebrand, Latin Mass, (VIII:4, Fall 1999), p. 15.
