“All life begins in the Trinity, comes from the Trinity, and is destined to seek eternal rest in the Trinity. Even damned souls, by suffering punishment for having rejected love, finally do glorify God’s justice. The life of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, mystery of divine mysteries, is a mutual giving so complete that the Divine Persons do not exist except in relation to one another. The divine life They share with Christ’s members through Baptism is meant to be shared with all peoples through the apostolic zeal of Christians.” ~ Traditional Latin Mass Missal.
Raphael’s Exhortation (Tobit 12:6-8)
Then he said to them secretly: Bless ye the God of heaven, give glory to him in the sight of all that live, because he hath shewn his mercy to you. For it is good to hide the secret of a king: but honourable to reveal and confess the works of God. Prayer is good with fasting and alms more than to lay up treasures of gold.
O Lux Beata Trinitas – O Trinity of Blessed Light
O Lux Beata Trinitas (O Trinity of Blessed Light) is a 4th century Latin hymn attributed to St. Ambrose of Milan (340-397). It was revised under Pope Urban VIII (1568-1644) as “Iam Sol Recedit Igneous”, which is used in the Roman Breviary for Saturday Vespers and on Trinity Sunday.
Iam Sol Recedit Igneous
IAM sol recedit igneus:
Tu lux perennis Unitas,
nostris, beata Trinitas,
infunde lumen cordibus.
AS fades the glowing orb of day,
to Thee, great source of light, we pray;
blest Three in One, to every heart
Thy beams of live and love impart.
Te mane laudum carmine,
Te deprecamur vespere;
digneris ut te supplices
laudemus inter caelites.
At early dawn, at close of day,
to Thee our vows we humbly pay;
may we, mid joys that never end,
with Thy bright Saints in homage bend.
Patri, simulque Filio,
tibique sancte Spiritus,
sicut fuit, sit iugiter
saeclum per omne gloria.
To God the Father, and the Son,
and Holy Ghost, Three in One,
be endless glory, as before
the world began, so evermore.
Translation by Fr. Thomas Joseph Potter (1828-1873)
VIRGÓ SACRÁTA is a Christian mission-driven online resource and shop inspired from the beauty of Catholic faith, tradition, and arts. Our mission is to “Restore All Things to Christ!”, in continuing the legacy of Pope St. Pius X under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. “Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?” O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.
