Litanies in Honor of the Divine Hands of Our Lord

Divine Hands of Our Lord
The venerated image whom Pope Leo XIII granted a Canonical coronation on 17 May 1903. The Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians (Auxilium Christianorum), Turin.

The “Litanies In Honor of the Divine Hands of Our Lord” were approved by His Holiness, Our Holy Father the Pope, Leo XIII, and “Nihil obstat and Imprimatur” were given for private devotion.

“My Son, exhort the teachers of the faith to institute a feast and an office in honour of My Divine Hands, and tell the people to put their trust in these same Divine Hands, often invoking them with these words : “Divine Hands of Our Saviour, help us! Forgive us, my God! Forgive us.” — Jesus Christ to a very humble priest, in private revelations, 1864.

Suitable for our times, recite these Litanies with a contrite heart, deeply grieved at the sorrows of our Mother the Church. After each invocation, say: Pray that the Divine Hands may humble the enemies of the Church.

When Pope Pius XI asked a question: “Who are the Church’s most dangerous enemies?” His answer was as follows:

“The Church’s worst persecutors have been her own unfaithful bishops, priests, and religious. Opposition from outside is terrible; it gives us many martyrs. But the Church’s worst enemy is her own traitors.”

“Lift up Thy Hand against their pride unto the end:
what things the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.”
~ Psalm 73:3
